Accepts two years in prison for drug distribution outside a vocational training institute in Santiago

A young man, student of a Santiago VET Centeraccepted this Friday two years in prison and a fine of 300 euros for distribute medicines near the institute. The sentence was suspended with an undertaking that he will not commit another offense for three and a half years.

The Provincial Court of A Coruña held the hearing this Friday at the headquarters of Compostela, which resulted in an agreement between the accused and the prosecution, which had initially requested 4 years in prison.

The accused admitted the facts recounted in the indictment and therefore accepted, two years in prison, which he will not serve if he does not commit an offense within three years. In addition, he must follow a drug withdrawal program and pay a fine of 300 euros.

According to the prosecution’s brief, the events occurred on November 10, 2022, when agents of the National Police, working to prevent the retail sale of narcotic substances near educational centers, approached a group of students of this center, who were contacted. were on break between classes.

There they carried out a cursory search of the accused during which they found a plastic bag containing 50 MDMA pillswith a total weight of 20.27 grams, which the accused possessed to distribute to third parties.

Likewise, they seized 0.37 grams of cannabis and 9.63 grams of hashish that he was carrying in his backpack.
