Relations between newly elected US President Donald Trump and businessman Elon Musk may be strained due to disagreements over Washington’s approach to China.

It should be noted that the “Tesla” “Gigafactory” is located in the city of Shanghai. In a meeting with Chinese Prime Minister Li Qian in late April, Musk called the Chinese factory the company’s best venture and added that Tesla intends to strengthen cooperation with China to achieve mutually beneficial results.
“Newsweek” believes that Musk’s relations with China could harm his relations with Donald Trump and, therefore, his position in the government.
“Trump and Musk may argue because Musk will be against a tough economic policy against China,” American expert Neil Thomas said in a statement to the publication.
At the same time, he did not rule out that in the end it will be possible to avoid conflict and that the billionaire will contribute to shaping Trump’s policy towards Beijing.
It should be remembered that Trump proposed in his electoral program to impose a 60% tariff on goods imported from China.
