The Junta de Andalucía, through the Ministry of Culture, has scheduled more than 20 activities to commemorate the 150th anniversary of the painter’s birth. As Lucena pointed out, the central axis of the cycle will be the exhibition ‘Julio Romero de Torres. Other Muses’, which can be visited in rooms I and III of the Museum of Fine Arts, as well as in the Escribanos Chapel of the Historical archives Provincial.
The exhibition, which will remain open until January 15, “dives into the different arts that influenced the painter’s work, such as music, theater, dance or poetry”, he underlined. For the little ones, family workshops will be organized on October 19 and 20 at the Museum of Fine Arts which will explore the life and work of the artist in an educational and fun way.
On October 18, it will be “Lorca in the patios of Julio Romero, poetic reading”, with Ana Vallsat the Museum of Fine Arts on Friday at 5 p.m. At the same place, “The Cordoban poetry that Julio Romero sang”, November 5 at 7:00 p.m.
Tania Ruzs will sing Julio Romero, accompanied on the piano by Falete, at the Filmoteca de Andalucía on November 12 at 6:00 p.m. “The poets Cordoba reciting for Julio Romero’ will take place at Bellas Artes on November 19, at 7:00 p.m.
