THE Echegaray Factory of Malaga opened a foundry looking for two actors for its new production, ‘The Death of Christopher Reeve’, which will open its ninth season. Those interested in participating can register until September 18th via the website Teatroechegaray.com. The auditions pre-selected people will be made between September 25 and 27.
The work, based on the homonymous text by Malaga poet Lidia Bravowill be performed from November 14 to 23 at the Echegaray Theater in Malaga, with a total of six functions.
The casting is open to actors of any gender identity and without age limit, although good body management is required. In addition, it will be appreciated if the candidates know how to play certain instrumentalthough this is not an essential requirement. Interpreters must have availability complete for both testswhich will begin on October 2, as for the performances in November.
The production will combine elements of physical theatre, video art, music and poetry, bringing to life the acclaimed text that received the XXXIV Unicaja Poetry Prize.
As is customary at Factoría Echegaray, candidates must be born or reside in Malagaor have been trained in institutions such as the Conservatory of Dance of Malaga, the Higher School of Dramatic Art of Malaga (ESAD) or the Higher School of Performing Arts of Malaga (ESAEM). Actors who have worked with companies in Malaga in the last two years may also participate.
The selection process will include exercises in which the actors will have to connect your body interpretation to a text that they must have previously memorized. Management will explore different variations of each candidate’s proposal during the casting.
