Actress Maggie Smith, who played Professor McGonagall in Harry Potter, dies.

British actress Maggie Smith, known for her role as Professor McGonagall in the Harry Potter films, has died at the age of 90. The actress’s real name is Margaret Natalie Smith.

In 2007, while filming the sixth installment of the franchise, she was diagnosed with breast cancer, but despite the illness she continued to work on the set.

Maggie Smith has won two Oscars, seven BAFTAs and three Golden Globes.

A statement from her sons Toby Stephens and Chris Larkin said: “It is with deep sadness that we have to announce the death of Dame Maggie Smith. He died peacefully in hospital in the early hours of Friday, September 27. As a person who prefers privacy, she spent her final moments surrounded by family and friends. “She is survived by two children and five beloved grandchildren who are deeply affected by the loss of their wonderful mother and grandmother.”

Previously, Cursor wrote that Harry Potter was discovered to have a connection to Nazi Germany.
