The Agricultural Subsidies Council expands the list of crops that receive subsidies. According to the council’s decision, starting from the 2025 financial year, farmers will be able to receive a harvest subsidy in addition to the planting subsidy for their corn crops.
Oku.Az informs that the Ministry of Agriculture has published information in this regard.
It was noted that the subsidy for the corn product will apply to the product granted to companies that produce starch, glucose, oil and fructose from corn. Farmers who grow corn on their land and deliver the product to such companies will receive a harvest subsidy of 50 manats for each ton of corn they deliver, along with the planting subsidy.
Previously, subsidies were provided in Azerbaijan only for cotton, sugar beets and tobacco. The Agricultural Subsidies Council has decided to grant, starting next agricultural year, a subsidy for the cultivation of corn, in addition to the aforementioned plants. In the Council’s decision, the list of crops that will receive subsidies includes cotton, sugar beets, tobacco and corn, as well as sunflower and soybeans.
It should be noted that until now subsidies were only paid for the planting and replanting of corn crops. Farmers who plant corn in the 2025 financial year will receive planting and replanting subsidies in addition to crop subsidies. According to the decision of the Agricultural Subsidies Council, in 2025 farmers will receive a subsidy of 290 manats per hectare for growing corn in fields equipped with modern irrigation systems and 230 manats per hectare for corn fields without modern irrigation systems. Farmers will receive a subsidy of 120 manats per hectare for repeated planting of corn.
