The modifications that are supposed to be introduced into the Russian nuclear doctrine are already practically formulated, but not yet documented, the press secretary of the Russian president, Dmitry Peskov, told TASS.
“(The adjustments to nuclear doctrine) have not yet been formalized. They are practically formulated already. “They will be formalized as necessary,” – said the Kremlin representative.
On the parameters for adjusting the nuclear doctrine, the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin announced on September 25 at a meeting of the Security Council’s permanent meeting on nuclear deterrence. In particular, according to the Russian leader, “the category of states and military alliances against which nuclear deterrence is carried out has been expanded.”
Several other clarifications are also awaited. Russia will consider aggression by any non-nuclear State, but with the participation or support of a nuclear State, as its joint attack. A massive launch of strategic and tactical aircraft, cruise missiles, drones, hypersonic aircraft and other aircraft towards the Russian Federation and its crossing of the Russian border will become the basis for the use of nuclear weapons. Aggression against Belarus as an ally of Russia could also lead to a nuclear attack.
