This Wednesday’s rain keeps four communities in the Eastern Peninsula on yellow alert (risk) due to precipitation that will accumulate between 15 and 30 liters per square meter in an hour, according to the Meteorological Agency (AEMET) on its website . The communities on alert are Aragon, Catalunya, Comunitat Valenciana and Illes Balears.
The Balearic Islands have a yellow warning in Menorca due to accumulations of 30 liters in one hour and locally 50 liters in 12 hours, while in Mallorca the area most affected by precipitation will be the Sierra de Tramontana and the southern zone, where 20 liters are expected in an hour.
All provinces of Catalonia are in yellow due to rain, 20 liters in one hour, which in the case of Girona could be accompanied by a thunderstorm, while in Aragon only the Pyrenees of Huesca are under warning due to precipitation up to 15. liters in one hour.
In the Valencian Community, AEMET has activated the yellow alert on the north coast of the province of Alicante and on the south coast of Valencia due to rains – with probable thunderstorms – which will drop 20 liters in one hour.
In Andalusia, the province of Cádiz is on yellow alert for Levantine winds of 50 to 61 km/h (force 7) west of the strait and offshore south of Trafalgar.
AEMET warns that with the yellow alert there is no meteorological risk for the general population, although there is for certain specific activities.
