Afghanistan supplies 80% of its own diesel fuel. This was announced by the Afghanistan Refineries Union, reports Ariana News.
The private sector has invested hundreds of millions of dollars in the crude oil refining industry and the industry is growing every day. At the same time, the union claims that diesel produced at domestic plants meets international standards.
“We cover 80% of the market needs. Currently, 80% of diesel is produced in our country and 20% comes from abroad.” – saying Zabihullah NasridVice President of the Afghanistan Refineries Union.
Meanwhile, representatives of Afghanistan’s Ministry of Petroleum and Mining said they are trying to increase the production capacity of the Amu Darya oil basin so that all of the country’s oil needs are met through domestic production. Along with the Amu Darya oil basin, they are also trying to attract investments in the Herat oil field to start its development.
