It is reported that the Cybersecurity Crime Investigation Office of the prosecutor’s office has launched an investigation against Acun Ilıcalı, the directors of the channel “TV8” and the digital platform “Exxen” under the charge of “illegal betting promotion and advertising.”
The investigation is reportedly related to illegal betting advertisements shown at UEFA Nations League matches.
It should be noted that during the Türkiye-Montenegro match, advertisements for illegal online betting sites were placed on the stadium posters, which caused a huge scandal.
Ilıcalı issued a statement in response to these accusations. He said that the sale of billboards for games held abroad belongs to the host country’s federation:
“For those who do not understand and do not want to understand, I say it again. The sale of billboards for matches played abroad belongs to the host country’s federation.
