One of the main criticisms of the UCM (Marvel Cinematic Universe), is that for the most part, all the films and series look like a “copy-paste” without personality. Fictions made with a model with certain margins which cannot be transferred. Of course, even in the house of ideas there are exceptions that have contributed slightly author’s color noteslike James Gunn’s work in the Guardians of the Galaxy trilogy or Sam Raimi’s with Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness. But even with these slight licenses, Kevin Feige and his team had not traditionally succeeded. some red linessuch as excessive violence, sex scenes or nudity. Something that changed with the first chapter of Agathe, who else? in which its protagonist became the first woman without clothes in a Marvel movie since it belongs to Disney.
Well, obviously. we are not talking about a complete nude. Well, more than a moralism imposed by the company, it is a decision of commercial strategy. If the studio programmed stories with characters without clothes and without excessive violence, the label would be obliged to distribute its films under the R grade in theaters and with probably some parental control within Disney+. Until now, characters like Hulk or Thor appeared showing their buttocks, but Kathryn Hahn was the first woman to appear in the same way in the marvelite universe. Hahn brings to life the witch who commands the series, bringing back the character we first met in Scarlet Witch and Vision. A spin off later than major has been delayed countless times, accumulating to a total of four name changes from the series: Agatha: House of Harkness, Agatha: Chaos Assembly, Agatha: Darkhold Journals. Some title variations that did not bode well for the final result and the quality of the fiction of this new secondary production, in a cinematic cosmos who had to bring back Robert Downey Jr. to restore hope for the franchise’s near future.

Marvel’s first female nude
Those who have already seen the first episode of Agathe, who else? You may have noticed something quite unexpected in the production company’s film stories. This pilot begins with Agatha Harkness (Hahn) stuck in a version true crime quite similar to what we have seen in other TV shows like Easttown Mare. Circumstance which is the result of the spell that Wanda (Elizabeth Olsen) cast on him at the end of Scarlet Witch and VisionLuckily for her, Rio (Aubrey Plaza) invades said fate to remind her who is reallypushing her to strip down through every character she’s played after attempting to steal the former Avengers member’s chaos magic. At the end of the process, Agatha is completely naked.
However, as we have previously pointed out, Hahn’s nudity refers to the fact that her own hair covers her breasts and her ass is only visible in a brief shot. Anyway, seeing this female character walking around the neighborhood naked destabilizes the UCM regulars a little. Hahn, in his last interview, confirmed that the idea was indeed his.
“Well, it just occurred to me.”the actress told him Variety. A resource that the Golden Globe winner considers justified, given the narrative moment in which her character finds herself: “I thought it was nice to see her as naked, literally, as possible, which spoke to her powerlessness in the present moment. At that point in the series, she’s been stripped of all her power. “I mean, she really had nothing at that point, so it was about illustrating this gap between that moment and her regaining her power.”
“Agatha, who else?”: synopsis and casting
The official summary of Agathe, who else? is as follows: “After being trapped by Wanda’s spell, Agatha is freed from her illusion, regains her memory and discovers who she really is. The problem is that he has lost his powers and to do so, he will have to travel the Path of Witches by forming a coven with several unexpected allies. All this in order to regain strength.”
With nine episodes, Agathe, who else? It is planned as a miniseries in which, in addition to Hahn and Plaza, we find Maria Dizzia, Emma Caulfield, Ali Ahn, Patti LuPone and Joe Locke in the main cast.
