Agreement and sentence reduction for the six accused of the attack against 4 civil guards in Valmojado

The prosecution requested between six and two years in prison, but finally an agreement was reached in the provincial court of Toledo after an hour and a half of meeting between the parties: the sentences were reduced and the six accused of the attack, aged between 19 and 27, admitted the facts in court.

Five men and a woman, all young, accepted this Wednesday between four years and three months in prison for the attack committed against four civil guards, three men and a woman, in a square in Valmojado on the morning of September 9 last year. They broke two teeth and the jaw of one agent, in addition to fracturing two phalanges of the hand of another, tearing off a nail of a third and biting another.

Two of the defendants, Adriano and Maria Isabel, arrived without custody because they are not in provisional prison. However, Tito Erik, Christian José, César Leonel and Carlos Alfredo They entered and left the Palace of Justice in a Civil Guard van, since they have been detained for more than a year, since they were admitted two days after the events.

In a sentence that is consistent with the above, María Isabel and Adriano will be sentenced to three and six months in prison, respectively, while Tito Erik and Christian José accepted in court a year and fifteen days in prison, as well as a one-month fine of 6 euros. For his part, César Leonel will be sentenced to three additional months in prison for the injuries caused to an officer, while Carlos Alfredo will be sentenced to four years and fifteen days in prison for injuries aggravated by being the author of the fracture of the jaw and two teeth of another goalkeeper.

The public prosecutor is not opposed to the suspension of the sentence of all the defendantseven though three of the prisoners have almost already served their sentences. In the case of Carlos Alfredo, the prosecutor also has no objection because he was a drug addict on the day of the attack and is following a detoxification program in prison.

The attack happened after the Civil Guard was called from a home because a group of people were disturbing them early in the morning. Two agents went first, who had to call for reinforcements. “We think it’s because of the girl, who is the one who is disrupting the situation and the other defendants are getting involved.”Carlos Álvarez, lawyer for Jucil, the professional association of civil guards that led the popular accusation, explained to ABC. “We are satisfied with the agreement, especially because of the conviction of Carlos Alfredo,” added the lawyer, who requested three-year prison sentences for the six accused as alleged perpetrators of a crime of attack.
