Aguas de Alcázar will have 1.8 million for its digital transformation of the hydraulic cycle

THE municipal company Aguas de Alcázar has taken the first step to position itself as one of the highest level water management companies in the national territory thanks to a Hydraulic Cycle Digitalization project presented by the municipal enterprise and to which, after the final approval of the LOSS subsidy of 1.5 million euros granted by Ministry of Ecological Transition and Demographic Challenge Thanks to the Next Generation EU funds, 300,000 euros will be added by the Town Hall, for a total of 1.8 million euros which will be allocated to the transformation of Aguas de Alcázar.

The Hydraulic Cycle Advisor, Javier Ortegaand the manager of the municipal company Aguas de Alcázar, Alejandro Bernal, announced this Wednesday during a press conference that, thanks to a leading project in terms of technical, environmental and strategic criteriaAguas de Alcázar has positioned itself as one of the fifty hydraulic cycle management companies that will receive PERTE funds; after having designed a proposal that the Ministry placed in position 24 of the 240 presented by companies throughout the national territory.

Bernal emphasized that the granting of this grant is in turn a recognition of a management that works to modernize, improve and digitize the municipal water company for the benefit of the residents of Alcázar de San Juan.

The Hydraulic Cycle Digitalization project is oriented around 3 axes: planning, efficiency/digitalization and information management; a total of 21 performances among which we can highlight the supply and sanitation master plans, the study of water quality in Perdigueras, water pipeline project from Perdigueras to Alcázar de San Juan or incorporation of sensors into the network to facilitate the location of breaks.

Likewise, the installation of a greater number of meters will be carried out, the installation of pressure reducers to avoid losses and optimize consumption, as well as the integration of artificial intelligence, digital twin and Big Data for analysis to study achievements, forecasts and simulations for much more effective management.

The manager of Aguas de Alcázar announced that, based on the estimated deadlines after the granting of the grant, the end of the execution of the project could be in 2026; moment when Alcázar de San Juan will have “a new business”, as Bernal defined it.

The councilor for the hydraulic cycle, Javier Ortega, expressed that the project and the granting of the PERTE funds constitute a new stage that represents the success of the management of Aguas de Alcázar as a municipal company, also mentioning the revision of the actions carried out. by Aguas de Alcázar in terms of infrastructure improvement works, such as that currently undertaken on the rainwater network, having obtained the quality certificates of the hydraulic cycle system 4001, 14001 and 45001 referring to the quality, environment and occupational health and safety, as well as the rehabilitation of the San Isidro general warehouse.
