AKAF organized a large-scale rowing march in connection with COP29

The Azerbaijan Rowing and Canoe Federation (AKAF) held a large-scale rowing march in connection with the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29).

Oku.Az reports that the event was attended by the Minister of Youth and Sports, Farid Gayibov, the Deputy Minister Mariana Vasileva, the President of the World Rowing Federation (FISA), Jean-Christophe Rolland, the President of the International Canoeing Federation, Tomas Konietsko, the president of the International Dragon Boat Federation Claudio Shermi, Asian Rowing Federation and Honorary President of the World Channel Rowing Federation Wang Shi, authorized representative of the World Channel Rowing Federation Ken Lee, who also visited Azerbaijan in connection with the COP29 More than 50 foreign guests participated. “Rowing in clear water!” The event, which took place under the banner “Baku” Rowing and Canoeing Sports Club, took place on November 17, National Renaissance Day, on Seaside Boulevard.

During the event, a memorandum was signed between the Azerbaijan Rowing and Canoe Federation and the “Deep Dive” organization, which operates 22 water sports centers in 13 cities in China and is the largest water sports service provider in China.

A rowing procession was held in more than 50 different boats with the participation of local athletes and guests of honor. Among the rowers was Jean-Christophe Rolland, president of the World Rowing Federation (FISA), winner of the Sydney 2000 Summer Olympics.

Please note that “Paddling in clear water!” The main objective of the march is the protection of ecology, bodies of water, expansion and strengthening of cooperative relations.
