He added: “Although we are still ready to do this as soon as the arrival of humanitarian aid, we are at the same time studying new methods to support Gaza farmers, which is very important to increase food security now.”
Al -Fau explained that, according to the analysis conducted in March last year, “only 4.6 percent of the land in gas remain suitable for agriculture from the Israeli war.”
And she continued: “With a shortage of land land, those who were able to achieve them resorted to growing in temporary areas of the Earth between tents or on the ruins of injured houses.”
The organization noted that “with the ongoing crisis, which eliminated the conditions of agricultural food in the agricultural strip, recently supported 200 farms in Rafach and Khan Unis to improve the use of land available for growing the in need of basic cultures.”
For his part, the director of the organization program on the western coast and in gas, Dr. Azzam Saleh, said: “In emergency situations in which areas such as gas and the western coast are the best starting point – farmers themselves.”
He explained that the experimental program of the organization showed that local farmers “have a unique ability to adapt thanks to their technical and marketing experience and their traditional knowledge, they know how to benefit from each piece of land, every drop of water and each dollar”.
The organization warned that “the assessment of the influence that this initiative may, despite its importance, should not be exaggerated, in the absence of a steady ceasefire and again give in to the entrance to humanitarian aid without obstacles.”
And Israel was closed from March 2 last year, the intersections in gas in front of the trucks and assistance folded on the border, and allowing only dozens of trucks, while Palestinians in Gaza need 500 trucks per day at least.
