The businessman Víctor de Aldama went to the Supreme Court to provide, before his statement, details and documents in which he claims that José Luis Ábalos was going to charge commissions in exchange for the award, in the future, from different public markets to entities on the ground. . The defense of the accused, who was released a few days ago after confessing for two hours in the two cases in which he is accused before the National Court, claims according to media like El Español or El Confidencial that he has evidence on this commission. project and rewards.
At the same time, the judge of the National Court responsible for investigating the rest of the Koldo case asked the Civil Guard to verify whether what he said during his two hours of confession is true.
Víctor de Aldama was released on November 21 after testifying for two hours before the judge of the National Court investigating the “Koldo case”, the alleged corrupt network of awarding millions of dollars to his companies in exchange for commissions and favors to civil servants. These confessions, both on this cause and on the hydrocarbon network for which he is the subject of an investigation, earned him his freedom. He even claimed, without providing proof, to have paid commissions of several thousand euros to politicians like Santos Cerdán.
Part of his confession reached the Supreme Court, which recently called him to testify, as well as José Luis Ábalos, accused of having benefited from the plot led by his right-hand man, Koldo García. This Wednesday it was the defense of Víctor de Aldama who, a week before his appearance, provided a document containing statements and documents which, according to his version, support his accusations against the former minister and now deputy.
As reported by media such as El Español or El Confidencial, De Aldama provided a list of major public works contracts dependent on the ministry that Ábalos then headed. Contracts but also companies which would have agreed to pay commissions if they were awarded and which depended above all on the Highways Department. A still unfinished operation was also imagined for the former minister to obtain an apartment worth almost two million euros on Paseo de la Castellana in Madrid.
Former minister Ábalos will testify on December 12 as a defendant before the Supreme Court judge who assumed part of the case. Four days later, Víctor de Aldama himself will do it and, later, his former advisor Koldo García.
The judge asks to verify his confession
Meanwhile, the National Court judge, who continues to investigate the part of the case that does not concern Ábalos, moved forward with his two-hour confession at the end of November. He asked the Central Operational Unit of the Civil Guard to analyze his words to determine which part of his confession corresponds to reality. Among other things, De Aldama even declared having paid thousands of euros in commissions intended, among others, for the socialist leader Santos Cerdán, who announced legal proceedings against him.
The businessman, free with precautionary measures for more than a week, is accused in three different cases. One of them, for which he was in temporary prison, revolves around a massive tax evasion scheme in the hydrocarbon sector, several of his companies are considered to be the epicenter of the scheme.
The other two are the two ramifications of the Koldo affair, one before the National Court and the other before the Supreme Court, in which he is considered the “director” of the plot: the one who was in direct and constant contact with Koldo Garcia. , right arm of the ministry during the pandemic, with 53 million euros in public contracts for the purchase and sale of suspect medical supplies.
