Aldama assures that Koldo paid 15,000 euros in cash to Santos Cerdán in “a bar opposite Ferraz”

The alleged commissioner of the “Koldo affair”, Víctor de Aldama, also shared this Thursday his statement against Santos Cerdán, socialist deputy in Congress and organizational secretary of the PSOE. Aldama assured that Koldo García, then advisor to Minister José Luis Ábalos, paid 15,000 euros in cash to Santos Cerdán in “a bar opposite Ferraz.” This is what was declared this Thursday before the investigating judge in the Koldo case at the National Court, in a trial voluntary declaration in which there is also underlined the President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez.

Aldama, currently in preventive detention for VAT fraud on gasoline, surprised with the accusation against Santos Cerdán, who is not under investigation in this case and was not involved until now. As he explained, the payment of this commission to Cerdán would be linked to a tender from a construction company for which he worked and whose name he did not mention. Aldama clarified that in his presence, it was Koldo who delivered an envelope with 15,000 euros in cash to Cerdán in the bar in front of the socialist headquarters in Ferraz.

This accusation from Aldama provoked an immediate reaction from the PSOE, which announced legal proceedings against Aldama.

Cerdán denies payments

For his part, Santos Cerdán “categorically” denied the accusation made by Aldama in the halls of Congress and confirmed that the PSOE was going to take legal action against him: “I don’t even know him, he will never be able to say that. he was with me, what he said is totally false”, warned Cerdán. In a tone of notable anger, the deputy recalled that Aldama “is in preventive detention” and that the statements of this Thursday were made “without any proof and with lies”.

The Koldo case investigates alleged irregularities that Koldo García, Aldama and others allegedly committed by taking advantage of public procurement for the purchase of masks during the pandemic.
