The DANA which will cross the peninsula this week could also end up hitting Aragon. The emergency services of the Community of Aragon have been alerted to the possibility of heavy rains which could cause flash flooding of river beds and ravines in the lower part of the Ebro, as reported by the Government of ‘Aragon early this Wednesday.

The National Meteorological Agency issued an orange warning for rainfall that could reach 100 liters per square meter in 12 hours in the Bajo Aragón and Puertos de Beceite and 60 liters per square meter in 1 hour in the southeastern quadrant of the basin. The warning is also red in the province of Tarragona, at the mouth of the Ebro.

Given these forecasts, the Ebro Hydrographic Confederation has warned that extraordinary and sudden local floods in ravines and small channels are not excluded.

It is for this reason that the 112 Aragón Emergency Center recommends to the population not to approach the river beds of the regions of Bajo Aragón, Bajo Aragón-Caspe, Matarraña and Maestrazgo, as well as to avoid getting move near the ravines of these areas.
