Alert in Portugal due to the escape of five prisoners from a maximum security prison near Lisbon

Neves assures that an investigation is already underway, still without identifying anyone, and asks that “no one expects immediate results.” In addition, he added that “all aspects of the escape have been prepared down to the smallest detail.” “It is a complex investigation. We are talking about an organized crime, with great financial capacity. These are very well prepared people,” he said.

The Director General of Reintegration and Penitentiary Services, Rui Abrunhosa Gonçalves, also reported the moment of the escape, aided by the videos from the security cameras. Thanks to this, it was established that the escape of the five men began at 9:56 a.m. and was reported to the judicial police 40 minutes later.

The escapees are two Portuguese citizens, Fernando Ribeiro Ferreira and Fábio Fernandes Santos Loureiro, a Georgian citizen, Shergili Farjiani, an Argentinian, Rodolf José Lohrmann, and a British, Mark Cameron Roscaleer, aged between 33 and 61 years old. .

They were sentenced to prison terms ranging from seven to 25 years for various crimes.including drug trafficking, criminal conspiracy, theft, kidnapping and money laundering.
