The Alfafar City Hall has denied the hoax spread on social networks by the ultra agitator Vito Quiles and the far-right MEP Alvise Pérez on the alleged throwing at the dump of whole trucks of clothes donated by people for the victims by DANA. Through a video, the Town Hall reported that these were clothes damaged by humidity.
Vito Quiles published a video in which a truck appears dumping dozens of bags into a landfill whose contents are invisible. At one point, the agitator shows a bag in which he claims there are clothes “in good condition” and criticizes: “If they do that with clothes, imagine what they do with food.” »
For his part, Alvise Pérez, standing on a truck full of boxes whose contents are not visible, assures that these are clothes that “are taken to a landfill to be burned, because the logistics of this criminal administration is unable to generate the capacity to generate distribution points. The Alfafar town hall also denied this deception and stressed that these were clothes thrown away by health professionals.
Alfafar Town Hall has denied that this destruction of donated material is taking place and regrets the dissemination of this false information. He also adds that if anyone still needs clothes, they can continue to go to the usual points. “Misinformation only makes the situation we are experiencing worse. It is important not to share hoaxes.
He explains that “there is no need to give more clothes” and points out that six days ago warm clothes were requested and four days ago shoes of all sizes and men’s underwear and women, requests which were also made via social networks. . Regarding distribution logistics, he explains that these clothes were distributed first from a centralized point at IKEA Alfafar, and then at three points in different neighborhoods to bring them closer to citizens.
In the same way that the Alfafar Town Hall insists that at present there is no need for additional donations of this type of material, it also informs that there is a municipal account opened by the Alfafar Town Hall to collect financial donations and direct them to those affected by DANA. In the same situation are fully affected municipalities like Utiel, Chiva or Paiporta, which for four days have also requested that there be no more clothing donations and offers accounts for monetary donations.
On the other hand, among the aid distributed in solidarity over the last two days, the rations of hot food at midday stand out, both for residents and for volunteers, rations which reached 3,000 people per day.
