Artillery firing in the Sea of Japan during the strategic command and staff exercise “Ocean-2024” was carried out by ships of the Russian Navy and the Chinese Navy, the Russian Defense Ministry reported.
“The ships of the Russian Navy and the Chinese Navy in the Sea of Japan during the strategic command and staff exercises (SCSHU) “Ocean-2024″ carried out artillery fire at sea and air targets,” — the department stated.
It should be noted that “the ships of the Pacific Fleet (PF) and the People’s Liberation Army (PLA) Navy, acting as part of a joint detachment, worked out the organization of all types of defense during the change of area of execution of tasks of the Ocean-2024 control command post in the central part of the Sea of Japan.”
“The Russian-Chinese detachment of warships practiced navigation in various formations, organized air, anti-submarine and anti-mine defense. Acting under unified control, the ship crews repelled the conventional enemy’s air attack by conducting practical artillery fire, crossed the mine-threat zone and destroyed a floating sea mine. Russian and Chinese sailors also trained to fight against high-speed ships and UAVs and conducted night firing at sea targets.” – indicated to the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation.
The joint Russian-Chinese detachment of warships includes the corvettes Gromky, Sovershenny, Hero of the Russian Federation Aldar Tsydenzhapov and support ships of the Pacific Fleet, as well as the destroyers Xining and Wuxi, the frigate Lin Yi and a supply ship Taihu of the PLA Navy.
