“Türkiye is interested in opening the Zangezur corridor, including its energy component.”
This was stated in an interview with the newspaper “Report”, Alparslan Bayraktar, Minister of Energy and Natural Resources of Türkiye.
“We really want this line (Zangezur Corridor) to be realized both from an energy point of view and from other sides. Because it is very important both for us and for Europe. That is why I hope that this project will be realized”, – said A. Bayraktar .
He also addressed the issue of combating climate change.
“Now we are at a climate conference dedicated to ‘green transformation’. Everyone is talking about climate change. The most important thing we will do is expand communications between countries and regions. The most important interaction is the Caspian Sea, which has Great potential for wind energy, if I’m not mistaken, according to the World Bank, according to this potential. 7 500 MW,” said the minister.
He highlighted the magnitude of the project, which provides for the supply of large quantities of “green energy” to Türkiye and Europe through this corridor.
“We are working in this direction. Furthermore, in Nakhchivan the potential for solar energy is high. We are working to supply this solar electricity to Türkiye,” A. Bayraktar added.
