The metamorphosis of Alpine following the dismissals of Otmar Szafnauer, Laurent Rossi, Pat Fry and Alain Permane, the signing of Flavio Briatore as advisor and the closure of the Viry-Châtillon engine department.
The French team announced this Tuesday that from 2026 and until at least 2030, it would wear Mercedes engine and gearbox.
This will mean goodbye to Renaultwho will end his career at the “Grand Cirque” at the end of next season.
Alpine informed of the agreement through a statement: “The multi-year agreement will allow Mercedes-Benz to supply powertrains to the BWT Alpine Formula One team during the new regulatory era”, from 2026 to at least 2030.”
“In addition to the powertrain, the BWT Alpine Formula One team also has you will receive gearboxes from Mercedes from the 2026 season,” he added.
Alpine will thus take the place of Aston Martin (which will mount Honda power units) with McLaren And Williams as Mercedes-powered equipment.
