“We had to return to Denpasar (Bali Airport) last night after a disturbing passenger tried to open one of the aircraft and was grossly with our crew,” the airline said about the incident on Monday night, March 31, informed by CNN.
The passenger was expelled from a plane by local authorities in Bali, he added.
According to a video circulating on social media, a woman at the back of the plane managed to raise the door handle before the warning signal tells the crew, the captain said through the aircraft speakers.
Flightradar flight flight tracking data shows that the plane turned to the Indian Ocean about an hour after the flight.
Jetstar didn’t say exactly how many passengers and crew were on the plane flying from Bali to Melbourne.
“The safety and well -being of our clients and crew members is our priority and we thank you for the way they respond to the situation,” the airline said in a statement.
“This unacceptable behavior will never be tolerated on our flight.”
The unusual passenger incident had been informed in the past, including passengers who opened the emergency door and slipped the evacuation slide, hit and bit the flight wizard and threw a blow to the crew, which forced the aircraft to divert from the planned fate. However, the aviation authority is acting and imposing a stricter action.
Last year, a passenger was charged in the Federal Court after he had forced the aircraft door and injured a flight wizard in the middle of the flight, which pushed fellow Milwaukee from Passage from Milwaukee to cover it with driving tape.
In 2023, a man who opened an emergency departure from Asia Airlines’s plane before Landing told police that he felt suffocated and wanted to immediately get off the plane. The airline responded to stop selling seats near the emergency exit at Airbus A321.
