The right-wing Alternative for Germany party came in second in the Saxony state parliamentary elections, with the support of 30.6 percent of voters, according to official results published by the Saxony State Statistics Office.
According to the results, the Christian Democratic Union (CDU) party came first in the election, with the support of 31.9% of voters.
The left-wing party “Sarah Wagenknecht Union for Reason and Justice” (SSV) received 11.1% support. Social Democratic Party of Germany, Chancellor of the Federal Republic of Germany Olaf Scholz received 7.3% support.
The results were published after the votes were verified in 435 municipalities in the region. The participation in the elections was 74.4%.
