US President Joe Biden did not attend the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit in Peru. Instead, the American delegation brought 600 military personnel, most of whom wear bulletproof vests.
US President Joe Biden did not arrive at the APEC summit in Peru, where he was expected to meet with Chinese leader Xi Jinping today, November 16. As RIA Novosti reports, Peruvian President Dina Boluarte met with each of the leaders of the 21 delegations that arrived at the summit. Among them are Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexei Overchuk and Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trude.

The US president’s chair reportedly remained empty during the final roundtable of the countries’ leaders until it was occupied by the US president’s deputy national security adviser for international economic affairs, Dalip Singh. He is considered the architect of the sanctions against Russia.
