Petrozavodsk actress Valeria Lomakina apologized for a joke about the Karelian language in one of the programs, which Karelian director Artur Parfenchikov considered an insult. She wrote about this on her social network page.
Lomakina reported that she participated in the comedy show “Battle for Time 2”, which is released in the “humor without rules” format and is designed for a specific audience. Furthermore, the actress did not expect that the video would begin to spread beyond the VKontakte platform.
“As I believe it was in Karelia where my human, creative and professional development developed, I feel nothing but infinite gratitude and love for this region! For a long time I have considered that I belong here, that is why I always and everywhere, no matter what federal projects I participate in, acting in films or television series, participating in musicals and television shows, I always say with pride that I am from Karelia and not try to imitate the inhabitant of the capital”, – she wrote.
According to her, the show did not present her personal monologue, but the monologue of a character created by her: an exalted and not entirely sane artist from a provincial theater. And all the lyrics were spoken and performed from this character’s perspective.
“I fully admit that any joke can become a trigger, hurting the feelings of people who in one way or another are related to the topic raised, but this does not at all indicate my disdain for these people (many of them are my friends). and colleagues) or their feelings, and moreover, I do not assume the right to speak disparagingly about any language or about an entire people! – Lomakina assured.
The actress added that “she did not ridicule the problem of the danger of losing the language itself, but the attitude towards this problem of today’s “crazed” part of young people and, in general, of people who have lost contact with their land and its cultural traditions.”
