A Boeing 787-800 aircraft flying from India to the UK made an emergency landing at Moscow’s Sheremetyevo Airport, the airport’s press service said in a statement.
“The aircraft crew requested an unscheduled landing at Sheremetyevo Airport due to technical problems. Sheremetyevo Airport services promptly responded to the crew’s request and prepared to receive the aircraft in accordance with the current emergency plan.” – the message said.
The landing was successful. There are 258 passengers and 17 crew members on board. According to a source in the operational services, “the plane experienced a failure in the autothrottle.”
