Elmira Hasanova, former associate professor of the Department of Azerbaijani Linguistics at Baku State University (BSU), candidate of philological sciences, has died at the age of 84.
APA reports that this was stated by Anar Farajov, vice dean of the BSU Faculty of Philology, doctor of philosophy in philology.
It should be noted that Elmira Hasanova was born in 1940 in the Fuzuli district. In 1967 he defended his thesis on “Complex subordinate sentences of mixed type in the modern Azerbaijani language” and received the title of Candidate of Philological Sciences. In 1976 he received the scientific title of teacher. In 1964-1967 he worked as a methodist at the part-time department of the Faculty of Philology, in 1967-1970 as a professor at the department of Azerbaijani linguistics, in 1970-1976 as a full professor and since 1976, as an associate professor of that department. The main field of research was related to the syntax and textual linguistics of the Azerbaijani language.
His books “Practice on the morphology of the modern Azerbaijani language”, “Practice on the modern Azerbaijani language”, “Polypredicativity of complex sentences”, “Linguistic analysis of the text” (for master’s level), “Syntax of simple sentences” . (for master’s level), the programs “Syntax and text syntax”, “Syntax”, “Text syntax” (for master’s level) have been published.
