A magnitude 5.7 earthquake was recorded in northeastern Afghanistan, reports the European Mediterranean Seismological Center (EMSC).
The earthquake occurred at 18.56 UTC (21.56 Moscow time), 40 kilometers south of the city of Jorm, with a population of 12.1 thousand people. The source was at a depth of 190 kilometers.
No information has yet been received about possible casualties and destruction.
