A magnitude 6.5 earthquake occurred off the coast of Canada, 272 km west-northwest of Port McNeil. The United States Geological Survey reported this on September 15.
According to the service, the origin of the earthquake was at a depth of 10 kilometers. No tsunami threat was declared in the region. No casualties were reported.
