a new infrastructure provides water to Zandio And Osacainethus completing the supply of all sites in the municipality of Olaibar. It’s quite an engineering job, given the complex orography, but now they have a new reservoir and running water with new facilities.
The presentation of this work took place this Tuesday, during an event attended by the president of the Commonwealth of Pamplona Region, David Campionthe mayor of Olaibar, My Carmen Lizoainand the director of Services of the Region of Pamplona SA, Alphonse Amorena.
The work, which began in March, consists of the installation of a conduct of 2,500 meters which connects the general pipeline, which crosses the bottom of the valley – parallel to the river Ulzama–, until a new deposit of 200 m³ located in Zandio, at a height of 656 meters.
To compensate for the difference in level of 167 meters up to the reservoir, a system of pumpingaccording to the Commonwealth in a press release.
From the new deposit, the two towns are supplied: Zandio, with 19 inhabitants, and Osacáin, with 63. For this purpose, they were placed pressure reducers in both nuclei.
Additionally, it was installed fiber cable to connect the pumping system to the tank. They were also added photovoltaic panels in the new depot to provide electrical energy.
The total budget for the work was 1,028,403.22 euros plus VAT, financed in part by the Local investment plan of the Government of Navarra (820,573.78 euros plus VAT, which represents 80% of the total) and for the Olaibar Town Hall. The company Services of the Region of Pamplona SA was commissioned to carry out the work.
