ABBYY, the largest developer of document processing and dictionary software, has fired all of its employees who are Russian citizens in one day.
About this Oku.Az reports with reference toleta.ru.
There were massive layoffs of programmers in offices in Cyprus, Hungary and Serbia.
“During the meeting, everyone was banned from writing reports, everyone’s videos and microphones were turned off. Everyone was told they were fired and a letter would be mailed to them,” said a former ABBYY employee.
According to one of the former employees, as soon as the meeting ended, the company closed corporate access to the fired Russians. “Everyone with a Russian passport was fired,” he explained, adding that the layoffs were announced first in the Cyprus office, then in Serbia and finally in Hungary.
The company itself has not yet officially commented on what happened.
