The documents confirm the first elements leaked during the summer. In total, Gabriel Attal had planned to freeze public spending in 2025 compared to the initial 2024 budget of 492 billion euros. The Ministries of Labour and Employment are taking a hard hit. Appropriations fell by 2.3 billion euros, or 6.9%, year-on-year. The public development aid budget would be reduced by 1.3 billion euros, or 19.4%. A reduction of 300 million euros (-27%) also affects, in this provisional project, the appropriations for transformation and public services. On the other hand, defence benefits from an increase in its appropriations of 7%, or 3.3 billion euros.
