Kazakh law enforcement agencies launched a preliminary investigation into the fact that one of the advertising screens in Astana during the state visit of Russian President Vladimir Putin, instead of the Russian tricolor, was for some time painted with the colors of the ukrainian flag. . This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
“The Ministry of Home Affairs has launched an investigation into yesterday’s incident involving Keruen Media LLP. “At the moment all possible solutions to what happened are being considered, including versions with technical problems, as well as possible illegitimate external interference in the operation of the company’s equipment.” – says the department information.
The press service added that all the circumstances of the incident are currently being clarified.
“Those guilty of illegal acts will be brought to justice” – the department’s statement further says.
On Wednesday afternoon, as the Russian leader arrived in the Kazakh capital, an advertising screen near the Astana Opera House was briefly painted in the colors of the Ukrainian flag. After that the screen went black and didn’t turn on at all.
Vladimir Putin is in Kazakhstan on a state visit, during which he will participate in the CSTO summit that will take place on November 28.
