A Francoist civil guard on duty managed to foil a theft in the Valencian city of Cullera and that the two perpetrators, both of Algerian nationality, were arrested. The events occurred in mid-September, while the agent was walking with his family on the city promenade.
At one point, the officer observed two people acting in concert. One of them, outside the beach, was observing and monitoring the surroundings. He also gave instructions to the other who, within the limits of the beach, He moved in and out of the sand area.
At one point he perfectly saw how the person who was on the beach approached a distracted couple in the sand, taking their things without being noticed. At that time, the Civil Guard warned the patrols and, while awaiting their arrival, approached the the criminals.
He identified himself as a civil guard and told them to wait for the patrol to arrive so he could identify them and carry out the appropriate procedures. It was at that moment that the perpetrator jumped over the wall that separates the promenade from the beach and repeatedly hit the Civil Guard, who managed to avoid them.
When cornered, the two men fled the scene and left the stolen goods on the ground, which were later returned to their rightful owners. The patrol was able to identify and charge “in situ” one of the perpetrators of a crime of violent theft.
Thanks to the physical description and photographs provided by the Francoist agent on duty, the second individual was also able to be identified and charged.
The people surveyed are two men, 28 and 32 years old and of Algerian nationality who are accused of the crime of theft with violence. The procedure was handed over to the Court of First Instance and Investigation number 5 of Sueca.
