Anaklia port will accept ships in 2029 – Georgian Dream program

Prime Minister of Georgia, Irakli Kobakhidze, presented the Georgian Dream election program on October 7. Parliamentary elections will be held in Georgia on October 26.

If Dream remains in power, according to Kobakhidze, by 2028:

  • the average salary in Georgia will be 3,500 lari;
  • Georgia’s economy will grow to at least 130 billion lari, with a GDP of $36,000 per capita;
  • an additional foreign direct investment of $9 billion will be attracted over the next four years;
  • the poverty level will drop to 4%, which is equivalent to about 150,000 people, compared to the current 440,000;
  • there will be 200,000 new jobs in Georgia;
  • State support for entrepreneurs will be expanded within the framework of the “Made in Georgia” program, with a budget of 1.5 billion lari;
  • In four years, the country’s budget will exceed 50 million lari, almost double;
  • Within four years, the government will spend 3 billion lari on agricultural development;
  • 2 billion lari will also be allocated to regional development;
  • Anaklia port will receive the first ships in 2029;
  • the railway’s freight transit capacity will increase from 27 million to 48 million tons;
  • the Black Sea cable will allow connecting the Internet to the European system; Work is expected to be completed in 2030;
  • Georgia’s transit role in airspace will increase; a new airport will be built in Tbilisi with a capacity of 18 million passengers per year;
  • by 2030, Georgia will be completely self-sufficient in electricity and will export the surplus;
  • Within four years, a modern early warning system for natural disasters will be fully operational in Georgia.

For the near future, among the promises of the Georgian dream:

  • tax incentives for innovative research and start-up companies;
  • increase the salaries of staff in kindergartens and sports and art schools by 100 lari, in addition to a 10% increase;
  • 160 million lari will be allocated to preserve cultural heritage and support artists;
  • special program for the development of village infrastructure “along the occupation line” (Georgia’s border with Abkhazia and South Ossetia. — EADaily) – starting next year, 20 million lari per year will be spent on it.
