In northwest China’s Xinjiang province, archaeologists have discovered a new site with ancient cave paintings.
Oku.Az It reports that the Xinhua agency reported about this with reference to the Institute of History and Culture of the Yushu-Tibet Autonomous Province.
The petroglyphs were found on a rock in the Tuntian River basin, in the Chumarleb region. According to scholar Jamyang Nyima, they represent scenes from the life of Chinese nomads. The age of the images has not yet been determined.
It was reported that more than 60 sites containing around 10,000 rock paintings have been discovered in the river basin. The oldest of them is about 3200 years old.
