Ancient glue shop discovered

Spanish archaeologists from the University of Murcia have discovered one of the oldest production facilities on Earth in the mountains of Gibraltar: a furnace for distilling plant resin built by Neanderthals in the Vanguard cave.

Oku.Az reports that the information was published in the scientific journal “Quaternary Science Reviews.”

According to the information, the age of the discovery may be about 65 thousand years.

According to scientists, the artifacts discovered show that Neanderthals used heat to extract a sticky substance from plants.

The resulting glue was used to glue stone tools to wooden handles, which were used in tool making.
