The Andratx Town Hall started this Wednesday on Bibliomobile servicewith which it aims to bring the municipal library closer to all corners of the municipality and to ensure coverage for all residents.
The Town Hall opted for this project with the aim of “promoting” and “encourage” reading at all agesin addition to “offering a better library service to all people who have difficulty getting to the Municipal Library”, as detailed in a press release.
The local corporation indicated that the municipality of Andratx only owns the Jaume Bover municipal librarylocated in the center of Andratx, and according to the public reading map of the Balearic Islands, the municipality has, in addition to a library, “a reading point in the most populated centers”.
It is for this reason that it was acquired a van to be able to provide this service. The Bibliomóvil service will take place on Tuesday in S’Arracó and on Wednesday at the port of Andratx.
The mayor of Andratx, Estéfânia Gonzalvostressed that offering a basic service to promote reading to the entire population is “essential” for the Town Hall.
“In this way, this new project was launched in the municipality to be able to offer residents the library service so that they do not have to travel to use it,” he added.
