Animal keeper bitten by tiger at Australian theme park

An animal keeper was injured in the arm on Monday after a tiger attacked the Dreamworld zoo in Australia’s northeastern resort city of Gold Coast.

The 47-year-old woman suffered “serious lacerations and puncture wounds to her arm”Regional Ambulance Service representative Justin Payne told reporters on the Gold Coast.

The victim remains in a stable condition after being admitted to Gold Coast University Hospital.

Before the paramedics arrived, the experienced worker received first aid to stop the bleeding.

The woman “was quite pale and not feeling well,” added Payne, who did not elaborate on how the incident occurred.

For his part, Dreamworld has only confirmed the incident and said it will investigate the facts surrounding the tiger attack.takes over Australian public broadcaster ABC.

Dreamwold Park, which has reopened to the public after a brief temporary closure due to the incident, features a section called “Tiger Island” that is home to nine Sumatran tigers and offers the public up-close encounters with the ferocious cats, as well as paid opportunities to feed them.
