Another country has broken diplomatic relations with Israel

Nicaragua announced the breaking of diplomatic relations with Israel on Friday, October 11. The reason for the breakdown of relations was called “Israeli attacks on Palestinian territories.”

This is reported by the Reuters news agency.

According to the country’s vice president, Rosario Murillo, “this decision is not directed against the people of Israel, but against its government.” At the same time, our government has been described as a “fascist” and a “genocidal government.”

It is known that the day before the National Congress of Nicaragua approved a resolution that urges the government to take measures in relation to the first anniversary of the war in the Gaza Strip, which now “extends to Lebanon and seriously threatens Syria, Yemen and Iran”.

Iran has long been an ally of Nicaraguan President Daniel Ortega, especially during the period of isolation caused by the crackdown on anti-government protests in 2018, in which about 300 people died, according to human rights groups.

Previously, Cursor wrote that Colombian President Gustavo Petro announced the severing of diplomatic relations with Israel. Petro expressed his support for Brazilian President Lula da Silva, who compared Israel’s actions in Gaza to the methods used by the Nazi regime.

Additionally, Cursor has already reported that Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman Al Saud said his country has no intention of establishing diplomatic relations with Israel until an independent Palestinian state is created with East Jerusalem as its capital.

Saudi Arabia “strongly supports the Palestinian people and condemns Israel’s actions.”
