Another tree planting action was held in Baku with the participation of Leyla Aliyeva

On September 19, Deputy Chairman of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, founder and head of the public trade union “IDEA” Leyla Aliyeva In the framework of the “Year of Solidarity for the Green World”, a tree planting campaign was held in the city of Baku, Narimanov district, at the intersection of Mammad Araz and Molla Juma streets.

AZERTAC reports that this time’s action, which was carried out with the participation of volunteers from “IDEA”, was organized in a part of the green zone with a total area of 7 hectares. During the action, 200 Eldar pines were planted and appropriate improvement works were carried out in the area. In order to effectively water the trees and avoid water waste, a drip irrigation system is planned to be used in this area.

Today, the air in our capital is polluted by waste generated during automobile transport, production and consumption activities, dust and other foreign substances in the air harm human health and the entire ecological balance. Afforestation and greening activities have a positive effect on restoring ecological balance and improving air quality.

The IDEA public trade union draws people’s attention, especially the younger generation, to the importance of environmental protection by regularly organizing such environmental actions and calls on them to act together in the fight against environmental problems. When citizens encounter cases of illegal tree felling, they can send their complaints and suggestions to the IDEA Public Trade Union via the hotline “1113” from the city or from mobile phones.

It should be noted that the hotline and mobile group “1113 – Nature’s Emergency” in 2014, on the initiative of Leyla Aliyeva, Vice President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, founder and head of the IDEA Public Union, “No to tree felling!” was created within the framework of the program. Action was taken based on complaints from thousands of citizens who entered the said “hotline”.
