Chaos in the Cercanías Madrid on the morning of this Wednesday in Atocha, where a failure apparently caused by a drop in voltage in the catenary due to the works of Adif caused the interruption or delays of all the lines in operation.
The incidents began as soon as the service started, at six in the morning, and extend from line C-1 to C-10, with different levels of status, according to the service itself on its social networks.
Specifically, lines C-1, C-2, C-7 and C-10 have had their circulation through the Recoletos tunnel interrupted, so that the trains of this service end their journey in Atocha or Chamartín, depending on their origin.
As for the C-5, the trains from Móstoles – El Soto end their journey at Embajadores station, while the trains from Humanes end their journey at Atocha station.
Finally, lines C-3 and C-4 a and b, whose service was interrupted early in the morning, are operating again from 7:30 am through the Sol tunnel, which has allowed passengers on other lines to travel between Atocha and Chamartín or Nuevos Ministerios thanks to this service.
Renfe sources estimate that all the problems would be resolved by 9:30 and 10:00 in the morning.
