The Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office asked the judge of the National Court Santiago Pedraz to release the alleged corrupter of the Koldo affair, the businessman Víctor de Aldama, after the various confessions made this Thursday in his voluntary declaration, as judicial sources informed Europe. . Press.

Although his statement is part of the Koldo affair, which Judge Ismael Moreno is investigating, it was Judge Pedraz who ordered his entry into provisional prison for alleged VAT fraud linked to the hydrocarbon sector.

According to legal sources consulted by Europa Press, Aldama presented this Thursday a new request before the Central Court of Instruction number 5, where it is the subject of an investigation for an alleged fraud of 182 million euros in the sector hydrocarbons, with his partner Claudio. Rivas, as well as alleged collaborators and front men.

It was last October 10 that Judge Pedraz ordered the entry of Aldama into provisional prison due to the seriousness of the crime, with the penalty that could be imposed, which, he indicated, could lead to the businessman to escape the action of justice.

Aldama appealed, but Pedraz and the Criminal Chamber of the National Court ratified his continued imprisonment. The Chamber appreciated that two of the objectives that the law envisages to legitimize the provisional detention agreed by the investigator are realized: the risk of flight and the possibility of destruction of evidence.

This second request for Aldama’s release comes just after he voluntarily appeared before Judge Ismael Moreno to testify about the “Koldo plot.” Thus, Judge Pedraz should rule in the coming hours on this new request from Aldama, after the prosecutor has reported it.
