An agricultural forest fire that broke out early this afternoon in Agullana (Girona) has restricted traffic on the AP-7 motorway between exits 1 and 3 of La Jonquera and the high-speed train service between Figueres and France.
As reported by the Generalitat firefighters to the Catalan News Agency (ACN), the flames started at kilometer point 3 of the GI-500, in the municipality of Agullana. 18 ground teams and five helicopters are working on the extinguishing tasks.
Cars can continue to drive alternatively to the motorway on the N-II.
The fire in Alt Empordà joins other fires declared this Saturday in the neighboring French regions of Roselló, which have also forced the closure of several sections of the AP-9 motorway.
