The appeal states that a cooling climate increases the danger of carbon monoxide in the home:
“In this season, when the demand for heating increases, non-compliance with safety rules when using gas appliances can lead to bitter consequences. Despite the mass educational work carried out by the Ministry of Emergency Situations in this regard, it is necessary We regret that tragic incidents caused by carbon monoxide still occur.
Taking into account the above, as well as the fact that carbon monoxide is odorless and is not felt, in order to prevent possible complications, the Ministry of Emergency Situations once again reminds of the need to follow the following safety rules:
– the operated gas device must comply with the rules and regulations;
– the height of the space where the device is located must not be less than 2 meters 20 centimeters;
– the ventilation system must work, the vent must be open;
– in the bathroom there must be a ventilation pipe and holes under the door;
– Chimneys should be cleaned twice a year.
It should be remembered that headache, dizziness, nausea and fainting are the main symptoms of carbon monoxide poisoning in people in the place where the gas device is located.
In case of carbon monoxide poisoning, it is necessary to immediately remove the victim to fresh air, remove clothing that makes breathing difficult and seek emergency medical help!
