He Government Council of Castile-La Mancha approved the ordinance that develops the Social Concert for the management of the Residential Assistance Service for Minors and the execution of judicial coexistence measures, a mechanism that will have a budget of 106.7 million euros and that will allow the protection of minors for a period of validity of four years, with the possibility of extension for 10 years.
This was announced on Tuesday by the Minister of Social Protection, Bárbara García Torijano, who highlighted the great consensus reached with the beneficiary associations, registered in the third sector, which will allow a total of 530 places to be created through 60 entities.
Torijano clarified that the proposed places are of two types: those for residential care, which amount to 522, corresponding to retirement homes, shelters and specialized centers for cases of disability, and those corresponding to the execution of judicial measures, which will have a total of eight seats.
The councilor stressed that the beneficiary entities will be those of a social nature with consideration in the Third Sector, as well as other private companies, and that those that already work with the Council of Communities and that comply with the requirements will have priority for the reception of this agreement.
The deadline for submitting applications for these grants will be 10 working days from the publication of the decree in the Official Gazette of Castilla-La Mancha, and the award will be made by an evaluation committee made up of experts.
The councilor stressed that this is a “very well-developed” decree with all social actors, and that it shows “the commitment of the regional government to the well-being of children and the stability of the entities themselves, which will thus have the necessary economic resources and will be able to benefit from a simplification of administrative procedures.
In any case, he warned that the agreement provides for the possibility of revision in exceptional circumstances, and that it could be modified depending on prices and staff remuneration.
