The aid deployed by Aragon in Catarroja thanks to DANA expanded its scope of action this Monday and began working on cleaning and unblocking of the sewer network of sector 2 of the municipality.
Until now, according to the DGA, Aragonese troops were deployed exclusively in sector 3, where the passage of days allowed the streets to be cleared. and considerably improve the reality of neighbors. The coordination of the operation made it possible to clean them in record time, an effort recognized by the mayor of the town herself.
“The operation of the Government of Aragon has already crossed the ‘border’ between the areas and we are collaborating in sector 2, where, with some unblocking companies, wastewater has begun to be discharged. The Infoar operation is collaborating in these tasks, which “This allows the water supply necessary to carry out this unblocking work.”explains Carolina Campos, Civil Protection technician of the Regional Executive.
At the same time, staff are working hard in sector 3, where the priority is also cleaning the water collectors. “The main problem is that the mud is already turning into clayand this clay begins to dry and noticeably clogs the sewers. We are collaborating with 17 unblocking trucks, including a contingent arriving from Morocco,” adds Campos.
In the northern zone, the Aragonese system uses small machines, such as Bobcat, to load the sludge that is still on the public highway with the containers that were located this Sunday. following the instructions from the Catarroja town hall.
Work is also underway in the Plaza del Consistorio, where this weekend vehicles were removed from one of the parking lots, as well as those on the surface.
Added to this is an additional difficulty: the presence of electric vehicles, the removal of which requires a somewhat special operation. “They cannot be removed with a normal crane,” reasons the Civil Protection technician.
In the southern area of Sector 3, Aragon has already started washing the streets to restore cleanliness and a sense of health, which is “very important for the entire neighborhood.” “The sewer system is also still clogged, but water can begin to flow through the surface to clean these streets, so that it can fall through the collector that closes the southern zone, which yes, it’s taken off”he adds.
At the same time, on the main secondary roads that delimit the Aragon sector, work is also being carried out with trucks that collect containers.. “These are wide roads where neighbors leave their belongings let them leave their homes. With this work, we are clearing these main arteries,” Campos emphasizes.
