Are “Black Friday” discounts real? -Oku.az

As in all countries, “Black Friday” week has begun in Azerbaijan. Citizens are offered special discounts at stores selling clothing, accessories and electronics.

But how realistic are these discounts? Can people take advantage of Black Friday discounts? Baku TV conducted a survey among residents of the capital about the mentioned discounts.

Most citizens said they did not take advantage of the mentioned discounts:

“They increase the product from 60 manat to 100 manat and then sell it again for 60 manat under the name of discount. What is this discount?”

According to Eyyub Huseynov, president of the Azad Consumer Union, although some stores apply real discounts, there are many networks that sell unusable products under the pretext of “Black Friday.” This happens especially in stores that sell electronic products. When the citizen wants to return the product, they are informed that the discounted goods are not returned.

“These days, consumers are robbed of products that are not fit for sale, returned, and have manufacturing defects. If buyers purchase complex technical equipment (washing machine, computer, etc.), they should check with the seller if they are in good condition,” said E. Huseynov.
